The original inhabitants of Southampton Long Island, the Shinnecock Nation are among the few Native Peoples still living on portions of its ancestral lands. For generations the Shinnecock have given to the Hamptons community – from the continued gift of its livelihood as fisherman and whalers, to the preservation of land, combating the effects of climate change, including protecting and restoring the waterways.
